Types of Anxiety with Different Core Fears

  • Generalized Anxiety

Do you worry about just about everything, and feel nervous and anxious most days? Is it tough for you to relax, and is it affected your quality of life and well being?

  • Panic Disorder

Do you struggle with panic attacks? Do you feel like you are dying, or you might feel like you are going crazy? Maybe you even avoid going places because you don’t want to be seen having a panic attack.

  • Social Anxiety

Do you feel anxious around groups of people and in crowds? Do you worry that people are looking at you, or think you are weird? Are you scared of embarrassing yourself in front of others? Maybe you even avoid social settings like the plague.

  • Phobias

Is there an object, place, or situation that causes you to freak out? Maybe it’s an elevator, closed-in spaces, or an object like vomit, a snake, or a spider. When exposed to that situation you may panic and have to escape as quickly as you can. And, if you have to stay, you suffer extreme anxiety.

  • Illness Anxiety

Do you constantly worry about your health? Do you worry that every discomfort you feel means you have something terrible like cancer or heart disease? Maybe you go to the doctor more than most people you know? Your doctor could have even shared with you that you may have illness anxiety disorder (formerly known as hypochondriasis)? Your loved ones may have even expressed frustration about the situation and yet. you can’t seem to stop worrying. Has it started to bother you to a point where you feel it has become a problem?

  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

Do you experience thoughts that are intrusive, repetitive, and hard to get out of your head? Maybe thoughts that have rules that you feel like you have to follow? Do you engage in rituals you feel compelled to do, otherwise something bad might happen? Or if you don’t do that behavior, you will be extremely anxious?

What if we could find the core fear, and focus your treatment on that?

I work with adults and adolescents who are struggling with a range of anxiety types. Treatment targets the core fears specific to your flavor of anxiety, with aim to put anxiety on a leash, rather than let anxiety run the show of your life.
